If there was a place with diversity in culture, food, surroundings, and weather Santa Fe New Mexico is it. But the other area where diversity is is in the wide range pricing of homes in Santa Fe.
Because there is a very old section of town where land is at a premium and the houses were built small in the 1700 and 1800's, there are homes for as low as $100,000. But there is a lot of open space, and acreage is an option if you want it. On the outskirts and in the historic areas of town you can find multi million dollars homes.

The Northeast and Southeast neighborhoods offer mid-range and luxury real estate, estates, condos and town homes Because of this area’s positioning, beautiful views of the Sangre De Cristo and Jemez Mountain abound.
The approximate price range is $300,000 - $2,000,000
The West and Southwest neighborhoods usually have newer single family homes on less than one acre. This is where you might see some subdivisions coming in albeit very small subdivisions in comparison to the rest of the U.S.The approximate price range is: $100,000 - $300,000
The real estate to the Northwest usually has larger lots. Two and a half acres is a common size for these properties. This is in the foothills of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains where views are spectacular in every direction you look Types of homes include luxury homes, condos and town homes.
The approximate price range is $130,000 to $675,000
Bordering the City of Santa Fe are areas designed for rural, residential living, but close to the City. Here you will see more acreage. There are planned communities here as well, offering golf and equestrian facilities. The approximate price range is $275,000 3,000,000
The Historic Eastside takes in a small area of older homes with true Santa Fe character, many within walking distance to the Santa Fe Plaza. You'll find exquisite estate properties or compounds, condos and town homes, as well as very small properties which are in need of updating. This is an area that is very desirable, but isn't for everyone. Lots are small and the streets here were designed with the beginning of Santa Fe in the 1700's and so they are small and parking is at a premium.
The approximate price range is $229,000 5,000,000.
The county of Santa Fe is a huge area, including towns and suburbs of Cerrillos, Madrid, Eldorado, Lamy, Galisteo, Tesuque, Pojoaque, Nambe , Los Alamos and more.
Eldorado is a community itself with about 2000 single family homes. In this community you will find a small shopping plaza with a grocery store, video rental, two restaurants, doctor’s offices, a veterinarian, a gas station and an elementary school, fire station and emergency services -all within the 20.7 square miles area. This community is about 15 minutes from Santa Fe.
The price range here is approx.$ 250,000 - $500,000
Santa Fe County real estate includes river and acequia (irrigation ditch or canal) communities, historic adobe homes on 5-20 acre farms, and the newer fine southwest architecture with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Surrounding roads are often unpaved. In most cases, the drive to Santa Fe is 15-45 minutes. Because the range is diverse the price range would be based on the type of structures and amount of land. Keep in mind the farther out from Santa Fe will give you a greater value for your money in all respects.
