Lodging in Santa Fe

If you have a family with children or are a young couple or a mature couple or a group of friends who want to make plans to come to Santa Fe, all the options are here to make an enjoyable trip.

No matter your needs or preferences Santa Fe has a place for you for your lodging.

Families are usually on a budget and don’t need nor want the amenities that a couple may want such as a spa or room service etc.

In Santa Fe some of the best options for families are hotels and motels on Cerrillos Rd as well as vacation rentals that offer the space and the feeling of home. If you are to stay on Cerrillos Rd, this does require a car because the mass transportation is not very good in Santa Fe and this area is a drive from the Plaza and other activities outside of the city itself.

On Cerrillos Rd three excellent options for families are Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn, and Courtyard by Marriott.

All three have reasonably priced rooms and indoor pools (what more could the kids want) Fairfield Inn offers a complimentary breakfast. Holiday Inn and Courtyard by Marriott have restaurants.

Exercise rooms are available at Holiday Inn as well as Courtyard by Marriot.

If there is a plan for a reunion or anniversary party, the Courtyard by Marriott is the second largest space in Santa Fe and has meeting and ballrooms with full food and drink services.

All three locations have excellent service and will make your families feel at home.

If you are a larger group of friends or family and are having a wedding in Santa Fe or a reunion and want to stay all together and have the comforts of home., Las Casitas de las Palomas is a great option in town.

There are eight locations all within walking distance of museums, restaurants, shops, the Plaza and events in Santa Fe. The eight accommodations range in size from studios (400 Square Feet) to 2 bedrooms; two bath homes (1300 square Feet)

Each casita features cable television, phones, and a fully equipped kitchenette. Free off street parking is available. All rooms are non-smoking.

Another larger facility for groups who want the comforts of home and maybe even bring the pets but do not mind going out of town a few minutes may consider a place like Rancho Jacona. This is a quiet and beautiful place offering a home base for vacationers who enjoy both the ambiance of rural New Mexico and the cultural offerings of the Santa Fe area. When we say fully equipped, we mean fully equipped. You need bring only your groceries and personal needs.

If you are a couple who wants to be right near the Plaza and wants some of the luxuries of a fine hotel Santa Fe Style you, should check out the Inn of the Governors. This location blocks from everything downtown, is reasonably priced, yet offers all the perks the larger hotels do.

Their exclusive complimentary Mountain Sunrise Breakfast Buffet is prepared fresh daily and includes traditional morning cuisine as well as southwestern favorites. In the afternoon enjoy Tea and Sherry hour in our relaxing lobby. Many rooms have wood burning kiva fireplaces & private balconies to complete the ambiance only Santa Fe can offer. As an added value, they also offer complimentary parking, a rarity in downtown Santa Fe!

If you are a couple who doesn’t mind staying outside of Santa Fe for some time on your visit and is more of the adventurous type Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs and Spa is the place for you.

Ojo Caliente offers an unpretentious and uncomplicated atmosphere with a variety of lodging accommodations from their historic hotel to the cozy cottages and two special houses for those looking for a little more luxury or privacy.

All lodging includes entry to all the mineral pools. Through the years, Ojo Caliente has been steeped in myth and legend. The famous and the infamous have taken these waters. Volumes of testimonials filled with declarations of miracle cures abound.

But not only does this place offer history and adventure, but their spa is just as complete as the ones in town but more reasonable.

If intimate spaces are where you want to stay as a couple there are a few excellent Bed and Breakfasts in town that offer great food, hospitality, information and suggestions on the sites, and a comfy room and service to return to each evening.

Casa Pacifica B and B, Guadalupe Inn, El Pueblo Bonito, and Water Street Inn offer Santa Fe Style rooms, furnishings and food with Santa Fe Hospitality.

If a B and B outside of town is better where you can experience nature and the beautiful Santa Fe landscape then the Bobcat Inn and Crystal Mesa Farms offer the out of town open spaces and natural surroundings of New Mexico. It still is just a fifteen minute drive back into town and many say this is the way to spend time in the greater Santa Fe.

So many choices so little time. Well, it just means you need to come back and visit again.
