Santa Fe has become a Mecca for the healing arts. My definition of the healing arts would be any type of practice not using drugs usually using the “laying on of hands” and creating a mental, spiritual and/or physical healing.
There is a common theory why there is such a plethora of healing arts, schools, business, and client base here in Santa Fe. It is commonly thought because this is a spiritual place that it has been a draw for many kinds of peoples from the original pueblo Indians to present day transplanted citizens.
The “energy” of a place truly produces a kind of mentality and lifestyle.
It is said that Santa Fe has a feminine energy and calls people to do more of the feminine type business that involves creation and nurturing-thus the healing art component of the City Different - Santa Fe.

The Longevity Café and Emporium is a downtown location that is a Teahouse, Tonic and Elixir Bar, and offers Organic & Vegetarian Food, Eventspace, Gallery, and Specialty Retail. A great place to check out some healing concoctions and aids.
The Ark Bookstore has been voted Santa Fe's Best Bookstore!
Serving Santa Fe for over 20 years, they provide alternative and comprehensive selection of books in such areas as spiritual traditions, psychology, health, healing systems, astrology and many others.
The Ark carries beautiful and unique gift items from many areas of the world some of which are statues, jewelry, textiles, bells, meditation and yoga aids and the largest selection of incense in New Mexico.

Healers
There are many types of healers in the Santa Fe area. These are people who use different techniques and philosophies in their work. It is a small sampling. The internet is a great source for finding specific kinds of healers in Santa Fe or even in your area.
The healers themselves in the area have felt a calling to do a specific type of healing. Some work with the electric fields/ charkas. Some work with color and visual stimulation to undo some psychic wounds. Others use sound/music to realign the out of balance energies in a person.
There are spiritual healers who help you on your “quest’ which is a journey thru meditation to find your next step. Some use animals and their symbols for this to help interpret what your destiny/ quest is to be. The shamans of the Native American peoples use ceremonies, sweat lodges, etc. for this.
It is all very fascinating, and I do not pretend to know a lot about these healing practices or peoples. What I do know is that the different methodologies all end up with the same truths and that is to heal.
I would suggest a referral from someone you trust to your first meeting with anyone who claims to be a healer because there are fakes out there)
